Well if you have never been committed for a involuntary pshyc evaluation or have a history with dangerous mental illness and been formally listed via your doc though the legal system, then check NO.

I was diagnosed with ADD when I was a kid, thats a mental condition, I have dyslexia that still fucks with me to this day, should my mental illness debar my 2a rights.

However, the point is, if they lie in their answers there is no cross check available. Do I think add, previous depression or anything you mentioned to be a 2a killer? No. However, I do feel if I'm going to jump through more hoops then make the hoops somewhat even and lets take some things away from them as well, such as privacy laws regarding psych med usage.

Honestly, I think the drugs are really the common thing and there are some misunderstood or covered up side effects.

You cant fix crazy, thats a given. However, if you fuck with someones chemical balance who is otherwise stable you can make them unstable. I really wonder if some of these antidepressants are doing just that.

edit, Part of the reason I wonder is my daughter was diagnosed as depressed and was given prozac against my wishes. While taking that along with the vivance for her raging adhd she started having episodes of almost uncontrolled rage which is totally out of character for her. I weaned her off the prozac and the rage has never happened again.

Oh look at this, Seems the DHS has/is trying to acquire 7000 "Personal Defense Weapons". What is a "Personal Defense Weapon" you might ask........ A SELECT FIRE, 5.56x45mm rifle suitable for PERSONAL DEFENSE Huh, then why do we have the Executive and legislative branches of that same federal govt Screaming form on high that, no one should have access to such weapons because they are not good for personal defense.

So here we have the DHS and the feds in general admitting that a REAL 5.56 Assault weapon One that is select fire and has a detachable 30 round mag is a good personal defense weapon and in close quarters. But when the populace has the Semi auto only version of this very same weapon it becomes a "Assault weapon" and as such should not be possessed by the commoners.

My brother bought an AR-15 in June of last year with an extra 30 round clip, an amazing scope, and 500 rounds of ammunition for $1,500. He just sold it yesterday, minus the 30 round clip, ammo, and scope for $3,000. In a year when this assault weapons ban bullshit blows over (there aren't even 51 votes in the Senate for it, let alone the 60 that is the new standard in DC) he'll just buy another one for around the same price he payed earlier. It's lovely how easy it is to profit of conservative paranoia.

Not sure, I wasn't there for the sale. My brother and I have talked about it quite a bit and we're not the least bit concerned about Congress passing a ban. It just won't happen. They don't even have 51 Democrats to support it in the Senate and if you think even a single Republican will support it then you're delusional. House Republicans are all too terrified about the possibility of losing a primary in their heavily gerrymandered districts to do anything that could be construed as working with the President. We all just need to calm down, there won't be any pointless, ineffective assault weapons ban.

If passed S-150 (fienstiens federal AWB) contains a provision with in the grandfather clause that says any of the Named or included banned weapons can never be transferred and must be surrendered to the govt upon my death. My wife cant keep them, I cant pass them to my brother, or my children, or anyone else I may see fit to bequeath my lawful owned property too.

It makes the investment in these items useless ( I buy high quality equipment so if I ever need to sell they will be worth selling) they become worth Scarp value or what ever you local buy back will give you for them. So 5k dollar rifle is worth 200 Amazon bucks on a gift card...............................

Just to play devil's advocate, because it's not suited to close quarters combat. A handgun or shotgun is much more effected in the confines of your house.

Did you miss this post of mine that you have to scroll right past to get to his. Please see the bolded portions. Seems the DHS (you know part of the federal govt) disagrees with you opinion in its solicitation of a contractor to build them 7000 such weapons. Also why would the US military carry M4s in house to house urban combat if they were not good in close quarters?? Granted I would rather have a SBS room to room clearing in my house for intruders, but I would not hesitate to grab an M4 either.

When you push out to arms length to use that pistol, its the same over all length as a shot gun or civilian length AR for the most part, more or less anyway. Like I said I would rather have a good shot gun for home defense, but an AR makes a very potent home defense weapon as well see this link from last week
