I think I've reached a point where we will all just have to agree to disagree. As demonstrated in this thread, I can see where there are always going to be issues in handling such a sensitive and tense situation. There are so many different possibilities that your are always going to have someone thinking you either did too much, or did too little.

That said, I stand by the opinion that the kids should not have been physically searched without first contacting parents for permission. Everything else, given the situation I can understand.

Did you even read my last post? The whole detained/lockdown was just in response to another comment. I understand that aspect and could care less.

Also what most here missed was my emphasis on the kid thinking that the entire situation was cool. Slightly concerning.

This is how we deal with bomb threats. We call the air force have them come in to sweep the place and tell parents and kids not bring backpacks the next day or they will be searched the next day. We did not lock down the school pat all the students down or evacuate either
