One answer might be that most/many police do not actually live in or near their communities so they're prone to the us v them mentality. Not on the pulse with the citizens, limited connection to the people...so on. That is probably exacerbated when you add in the racial context.
Police jobs end up more about security and less about actual policing and police work.
Points certainly worth considering, but in this situation there wasn't a racial context, West Hollywood is an affluent community, and the agency was the LA sheriffs instead of LAPD.
In more recent news, the city just agreed to a 5 million dollar settlement after killing a veteran following a high speed chase broadcast live on TV. In the story, a number of shootings are referenced, including one in South LA, where the police accounts are in dispute by witnesses.
The Los Angeles City Council on Wednesday approved a $5-million settlement with the family of an unarmed National Guard veteran killed on live television in a barrage of gunfire at the end of a wild pursuit last year in downtown L.A.
The story doesn't cover OC shootings, but there were a number of them, as well, including one officer shooting an unarmed man in the middle of the day after he called her a "bitch"
Das ist nicht nur nicht richtig, es ist nicht einmal falsch!
Does the fact that it happened 4 months ago change anything? I don't think it does.
Agenda? No, I don't have one, and if you read my post you'd see that what I said was that I hope people are becoming aware of the increasing use of deadly force by US police officers in situations that do not warrant it. That's not an agenda, it's a statement.
Regurgitation? Again, no. I didn't copy, quote, regurgitate or otherwise paraphrase anyone else. My comments are entirely my own.
In what way did I misrepresent anything? Please show me where something I said was inaccurate to the facts.
You said it happened last night. Whether that was maliciously or due to lack of reading comprehension, it's irresponsible. It tries to convey the opinion that there is a wave of murder by police canvassing our country. While I agree that one accidental shooting death is too many, I'm not going to ignore a misrepresentation of facts in an attempt (purposely or accidentally) to garner sympathy to advance a biased opinion.
I think you know exactly what I'm saying. I don't think you're stupid. You can put together a coherent sentence. I think you're being disingenuous, which just makes you look like a pompous twat. That or you're really a complete moron that parrots points made by others without an actual understanding while you copy/paste. I think it's the former personally.
My culture and way of thinking is not derived from the "Arizona Faction". As a matter of fact I think Arizona in general is ass-backwards. So no, I am not a part of the Arizona Faction.
Is that suppose to be an ironic flip? Not once did I bring in stereotypes into the mix. I did not attack members by insulting them and their character. Einhander, smooth, and another member who I don't care to try to remember have been going on the attack pulling these blind cards out of their pockets. Sorry for asking and bringing up a racial question in the political/religion thread. MY BAD! I thought there were adults in this conversation that aren't going to get easily provoked and offended over an actual point that is to be made and a question I had.
And also, stereotypes tend to be true, or else how did they become stereotypes? I love stereotypes. I watch for them too. I really do. I love seeing stereotypes unfolding and becoming true for ANYONE and then them getting upset when you point it out. I love it. And just so that smooth doesn't twist anything. This involves EVERYONE including white people.
Do they exist because they tend to be true? That's not even what the definition is:
def 1: a widely held but fixed and oversimplified image or idea of a particular type of person or thing.
another source:
a simplified and standardized conception or image invested with special meaning and held in common by members of a group. "The cowboy and Indian are American stereotypes."
for example, when do stereotypes about groups, say Jewish people go from being merely jokes to people who legitimately believe in shit like blood libel? there's a clear effort by certain people to create and perpetuate harmful stereotypes.
So you delete your insult? Because it's breaking the rules of this section of the forum? You know...attacking members and insulting them? Like I said, your argument has no substance or anything backing itself up, hence why you're attacking members and pulling the racist card constantly. And I don't care what you think as far as me enjoying stereotypes...I DON'T! I really get a kick out of them when they come true. People are just too damn sensitive these days and PC that no one can enjoy each other and find the humor in what they see as "bad/taboo" topics.

Don't complain about sensitivity when you're clearly bent out of shape by everything he says.

These two statements are contradictory.
I don't care about his opinion of me. However, when he brings his opinion to the community of R3V which, I do care about, then we have a problem. Hence why I'm defending myself to this extent of his accusations.
Right and you only add legitimacy by continuing to give his claims attention. You shouldn't give a shit what r3v thinks about you based on what someone else on this forum says.
You spend way more time posting about what others are posting about you than saying anything substantive or responding to legitimate discussion posts.
Whenever I am about to make a particularly questionable decision regarding a worryingly cheap diy solution, I just ask myself, "What would Ether-D do?"
You said it happened last night, it was in April. Still on topic IMHO.
Correct, I misread the date. My fault.

Calm down little boy, no need to go hurling insults at strangers on the internet. Yes, I misread the date. Oops. That's far from being "irresponsible", "biased", "misrepresenting", "disingenuous", making me a "complete moron", or a "pompous twat". That's pretty serious firepower for a misread date
But hey, I'm sure you've never made a single mistake in your life, so go ahead and keep on enjoying life from your ivory tower
