So... my taxes are theft? My taxes don't pay for anything of value that I get in return? My taxes don't pay for the roads I drive on, the infrastructure I use, or the police that patrol the roads?

    OK.

GWB: I am perfectly happy in my income bracket. I don't argue for a second vacation each month. The current once a month vacations are good enough for me. Tonight, we're flying to Boston to see game #2 of their first home series. Not game #1, because tickets were $800/piece and we're not at that level. But we're pretty good. It's not me that has a problem living comfortably. I pay my taxes, go to work, cut my grass, and pick up trash in my neighborhood. I am pretty happy and my life is pretty easy.

It's those bottom quintiles that are struggling to scrape by, that count every cent of every dollar to afford their groceries, that break my silly bleeding liberal heart because I can't bear to know that people are starving in this country and if enough people got on board, we could do something about it. And it infuriates me to see proof (of what we all know) that if you're rich enough, you don't even need to pay the taxes you are legally required to.

No one wants to be poor. No one chooses to have no money so they can't feed their kids. But there are people that choose to fuck everyone else over so they can increase their income by .05%. They have been doing so in increasing amounts for the last 40 years. How bad does it have to get before something happens? And I just don't think that's right. These assholes are literally stealing everyone's money. Tax money is not theirs. It belongs to this country. It pays for our roads. Our schools. Our sometimes stupid foreign policy, but it's not theirs. And then we have this repatriation holidays to bring that funneled cash back in at some obscene tax rate, like 4.5%, because the government wants at least a fraction of it. It's not right. Society is suffering because of it. How many more jobs could be created without billions of dollars getting funneled out of the US to sit in an off shore account? How many more people could stop being under employed?

Anyone who pays taxes pays WAY more than their "fair share" of services and infrastructure. Anyone who pays the highest amount of taxes is getting raped beyond measure. Those who pay nothing or get benefits without paying in to the system are the rapists, by definition.

These are facts and there is no refuting them. You may disagree with the characterization, but theft is theft. If someone gets the same benefit as you do yet you pay (at the point of a gun, no less) and he doesn't, you are being stolen from.

So there you go. Anyone who is poor, is a criminal by nature, just because they are poor. Anyone who is rich enough to evade taxes, is a superhero! :|

Wow. You are such a hack.

The poor are made criminals by a progressive tax system. This proves the concept of legal plunder.

No fear, the poor aren't going to jail for taking what the government steals for them; only those "rich" who neglect to fork over their earnings are criminals in the eyes of the law and the eyes of socialists such as yourself.

taking from those that are successful and giving to those at the bottom apparently doesn't work very well, because it's been escalating since LBJ's failed 3 trillion $ war on poverty and we still have an issue. the wealthy playing by the rules and taking legal deductions to minimize their taxes is not stealing.
how many more jobs would be created if we shrank the government and reduced regulations?

The democrat party would cease to exist. They have to keep people poor in order to have any kind of voting base. Its the same reason why they don't want secure borders: Undocumented Democrats.

Disappointing? The whole concept of this thread was about how the rich are skirting their responsibility of paying their taxes. Doesn't that constitute a reason for discussing tax policy, effects of tax policy, poverty, wealth, everything? If not for all that, this thread would be pointless.

Yeah that not how you feel taxes are the devil and its just redistribution of wealth to fuck the rich over and give to the dirty commoners etc etc.

You turn almost every thread into a Capitalism vs Communism crusade.

Hey they're just about to become millionaires and we must make sure that our country operates in a way that's favorable to them when they get there!

This is a discussion on The Panama Papers and the political situation surrounding them and their effects, such as government officials resigning, resulting outcomes on tax laws, etc.

Not your own political crusade space like every other thread.

I saw a good thread on the subreddit for this that had a list of people who resigned or quit their jobs so far:

Its only going to get worse if/when US names get released.

Enjoy your extended nap marshall, itll be nice.

If you can read, you'll notice I didn't start a crusade against anyone. Rather, I responded against yours and everyone else's crusade that the rich are evading paying their taxes, "the filthy assholes, they be."

Still, you are salivating waiting to see which Americans are on there to drive their name into the ground. Populism, feels good, don't it?
