I haven't looked into this situation much, but it sounds more like he was explaining his side of it, not so much advocating for it. As I understand it, he was the victim in his situation, whereas Lena was not. I would say the overall reaction is excessive for what he did, which I guess is business as usual (see PewDiePie).

Trump may have won, but the culture is still very much liberal/left. It will catch up eventually, but it is still counterculture to be conservative. How do you know? When you can express opinions that criticize current popular left/liberal values, or show support for Trump/conservative values without backlash, then it will no longer be counterculture. Culture will catch up (probably), but we aren't there yet. I will admit, that I am slightly concerned that the pendulum will swing too far to the right this time around, given how far left society is right now. I guess we'll see.
You're absolutely delusional if you think that we are far left. The United States is regarded worldwide as a very conservative country. Even our Democrats are considered right wing or centrist at best compared to the rest of the world excluding maybe the Middle East. Labor is practically non-existent politically in this country. We have some of the lowest tax rates, least government regulation, etc. Socialist is a dirty word here. Real left wing politics doesn't exist in America and part of the con job that Republicans have pulled is convincing the American people that the left wing has somehow taken over during the Obama presidency. My ass. Obama was a neoliberal and for all intents and purposes a neoconservative as well albeit a reluctant one. The most left wing things he did are sign some new regulations for our PRIVATE healthcare system, and advocate for the environment and same sex marriage. Everything else could have been done by a Republican and no one would have thought anything of it.

You wanna see actual left wing politics try free government healthcare, free college, large public transportation systems, 60% tax rates, extreme regulation, nationwide strikes that shutdown entire industries, 80% atheism, legalized prostitution, etc. I am not saying that these are good or that we need to be that way, but I am saying that we're not a "left wing" country.

I liked Milo before the election because his message was more effective then. Now that Trump won, and his message won basically, then it looses a lot of it's effectiveness. It's no longer counterculture to be conservative and non-PC.

Yeah that being said, I don't think he should have lost everything like he has. Seems pretty reactionary.

Im not being bias here, Milo is an ass, thats why it bit him more IMO. He constantly tries to make controversy to sell his books and stir interest in him.

Both people are pretty annoying tbh, but Milo comes off as an ass consistently online.

    Lena Dunham Vs. Milo Yiannopoulos

So, I know this is a touchy subject, so I will attempt to make my point without any bias, in hopes we can have a productive adult conversation.
The story of two Millennials from the 'extreme' of their chosen side of the aisle.

This week, one who spoke from (one year ago) the side of a victim in a podcast and their personal truth of their experience, and, the other about three years out from the publication of their victimization of a close family member.

How is it that one has, in a very short time 'lost' whatever they had worked to create by speaking their 'truth', but the other has seen an increase in their success and growth of their career by defending their actions?

Both were participants in the victimization of an underaged child that legally could not consent to the actions. But the response is not the same, is it intolerant to think that a victim should at least receive the same public courtesy as a victimizer?

I appreciate your opinions, and I don't think there is any reason to attack anyone if their opinion on this differs, so let us keep it respectful.
