why do you think organizations like the black panthers and antifa came about?

sometimes the police can't do their jobs. sometimes they just don't. sometimes they are the hostile actors.

As I recall, the Black Panthers came about because of rampant violence and poverty in black neighborhoods, exacerbated by drug use and drug dealings, which led to more police presence, which combined with the degradation of the family structure in black communities in the 60's and 70's led to more single parent families and less respect for the law, saw an increase in police presence and therefore more law enforcement, which led to more arrests and the feelings of being targeted unjustly by police. Even going back that far, there's a reason police were in those neighborhoods where the Black Panthers felt they were necessary; more crime was being committed there for various reasons.

Nobody will deny police tactics were more physical back in the 60's and 70's, even into the 80's and very early 90's. There were and still are cases of police brutality. Now, what someone like yourself, or someone in the media, or a tainted "witness" from a ghetto thinks is police brutality is often times a trained technique. People don't understand that fighting another human to the ground is not a simple task, nor is it pretty.


Why did Antifa come about? I don't know, it appears to me and many others to be a bunch of whining kids standing in roadways and destroying garbage cans and windows. What I know of them and their beliefs consists of this:

1) anything they don't agree with is hate speech
2) garbage cans are the enemy
3) blocking traffic is "helping"
4) it's Ok to dress up like riot police to block speech you don't agree with
5) understanding politics and history doesn't matter as long as you shout loud enough
6) any white person that isn't an "activist" is racist
7) they're apparently an effective form of justice, on par with actual law enforcement agencies

Sorry but the black Panthers did a way better job of doing what they intended to do than these antifa kids. At least the Panthers had a pretty good structure and organization skills, the antifa guys just show up in their girlfriends/boyfriends skinny jeans and throw stuff, scream and think they are morally superior to everyone that doesnt think like them.

It's getting to the point where they just yell fascist!!!! If its something they dont agree with. Most of it seems that they dont understand law and order and deny think rules apply to them. Lots of people are getting sick of their shit.

Sure, Hate Speech isn't protected, the issue is that everything is being called hate speech now that college kids and antifa disagree with.

Similar to how members of Antifa weren't all rounded up like cattle and arrested for unlawfully blocking streets, destroying windows and public property?
Getting them out of the area perhaps was the quickest way to resolve that issue, do you know if any were cited or had charges forwarded? Was there actual hate speech occurring, or was it a protest that they put on within the confines of the law that simply irritated your group?

So then why isnt antifa being chucked out of town? Part of it is these waffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffles mayors and police chiefs. If I were one or the other, as soon as damage happened or a fight broke out I'd end the shit show right then and there.

When some people fully believe they are taking the moral high ground and that high ground is the be all end all only answer and all critical thinking goes out the window. Unfortunately most people are so brainwashed about being PC and such, they don't actually do research, study history, the Constitution, etc. Hence you're far-right bullshit self believing hate speech isn't protected.
