It depends. Was brain cancer his primary cancer or a metastasis?
Lung cancer, brain cancer and bone cancer are all connected and will be metastasis of each other.

ANYWAYS,
It's stated that he was a 2-pack smoker 39 years ago. Think this was a direct cause of his brain cancer? Is there anything specific that causes brain cancer as well?
RIP duder. Wish I could fly planes with guns on them.

I respect John McCain's military service. I'm sure his pedigree helped his career but I'm not going to hold that against him as that is the case in every industry. I also agree the left is exploiting his death for political reasons. He was certainly not in their good graces until he started beefing with Trump.
He is not my favorite politician for many of the reasons already stated. His public service record, as well as probably that of most public servants, should highlight the fact that we need term limits for all seats of government, at all levels.

On the flip side...
John McCain is far more consistently bad than you've been led to believe. Here are his greatest hits.
McCain, to quote FiveThirtyEight’s Harry Enten, is a “MINO … or maverick in name only.” He is, perhaps above all else, a brazen hypocrite. Here is a Republican foreign policy hawk who sanctimoniously suggests support for human rights “must be an essential part of our foreign policy” while backing war after war that violate those very same rights. Here is a hero of the neocons who issues pious proclamations about the importance of promoting democracy and free elections while also cozying up to some of the world’s worst dictators.

I never said McCaine was perfect, nor have I said Republicans are the antichrist. I live in Arizona so I see what McCain has done. He was a good man that (I believe) did his best to do the right thing. Trump is a bad man that does what is best for Trump.
Had there been a reasonable Republican candidate (Kasich) in the last election, I'd have voted for him, KASICH!

McCain was a public servant for most of his life, regardless of whether you liked his stances (or his flying ability for those that brought that up) or not, his dedication to public life has to be recognized. Trump, with the exception of his time currently as the President, has never served the public. So to compare McCain's 60+ years of service to Trumps <2 years is a bit disingenuous.
However, I'm not going to wholly discount the point that gwb is trying to make either, that liberals are only now more than willing to hold McCain in high esteem because he's dead and it makes liberals seem compassionate and sympathetic. When McCain was still alive and prior to brain cancer, he was demonized by the left for any number of reasons, so to act as though he was a perfect politician in their eyes now is also a bit disingenuous.
