Maybe that is CHP(Canadian HP) ?

Account for 15% loss to the rear wheel with a standard transmission, it would be roughly 161 rwhp.

Its probably crank hp calculated from an estimated drivetrain loss.

I was skeptical about the first two, what threw me was the 296?hp s52.

The dyno is SAE calibrated to sea level but the numbers do seem a little high by like 20whp.....

Of course it is high, the m50tu comes from factory with 189 hp@crank.

It did spin up pretty quick, so it was probably 3rd gear. In theory, gear ratio doesn't factor into dyno readings. However in practice, due to drivetrain losses, 3rd gear vs 4th gear pulls can vary by a few hp. As long as the dyno can collect data fast enough 3rd gear is safer because the roller speed ends up being lower. I'd be terrified to stand anywhere near the rollers when high hp cars are turning 140+ mph in 4th gear.

                  No way, really?!?!

Yes the majority of the N/A cars were done in 3rd. Also i do not think there was any load on the dyno, it was just momentum.

The S52 has schricks, 540 throttle body, headers and full exhaust, 3.5" CAI with 3.5" maf, 24lb injectors and a tune.

                    that's still not 296whp. That's S54 territory.
