What an S20 would look like

    Hello,
Recently a question popped up in my head of what would an s20 look like if ever built? I know most of the M engines back then had ITBs, the coil packs (not sure if that's right way to say that), and the BMW M power valve cover. Since its possible to do ITBs and new valve covers I wanted to see what it would look like. Eventually once I have enough money I'd like to build something like this because I like ITBs and the thought of having a "what if BMW did this scenario" motor. I'm not great at Photoshoping pictures by any means but this helped me get an idea of how sinister one of these things would be if created.

Sorry for the snapchat quality/writing on photos, I'll direct upload them tomorrow.

Also I'd love to hear ur opinions on what makes it an m motor or what I should improve upon because like I said I want to make something like this in the near future. Thanks.

    The inspiration:

    M88

    2002 turbo engine I believe..

    First 'draft'

Finished with oil cap and wires

    Comparison

Again sorry for the bad quality I'll be uploading some better ones tomorrow. Oh and if u could direct me to a thread that talks about any s20 theories that would be much appreciated.

            No, that's a joke.

Ok so there really isn't one? I know there was discussion about 24v heads by racing dynamics, and Callaway but no one ever labeled anything "S20". Anyone have any info on a prototype?

If BMW built a S20 I feel like it would basically be a Euro S50 but non Vanos and probably like a 2.8 liter.

Ahh I see.. This might be sorta taking this off topic but aesthetically what would you guys do to an m20 to make it look like what a s20 engine would look like

If I were building a M20 to look more like an BMW S engine I would do the following:
                        -Long Tube Headers
                        -Castro's Air Box
                        -S50 ITB adapters
                        -Custom S38 style trumpet box
-Custom CNC'd valve cover (inspired by the hartge cover, but with "M Power" carved in)
-Deleted Distributor Cap and run wasted spark

Aesthetically? Well you could cast/machine a valve cover with two humps to simulate a dual cam, but that'll send you back a couple grand for a one off.

If you are just referring to a clean M20 setup ...
