        In the YouTube description it says "With the BMW M3 E30 we start our five part series about the best-selling model of BMW M." My understanding was these cars would sit at dealerships for months just to sell, as no one really knew what they where nor wanted one. I read info like that somewhere around here anyways.

            in the beginning yeah, but the general public took notice after a couple years. thats why the convertible and evo models didn't get made till 89 and on.

            crazy how much more expensive they were than the non m models though! I didn't know that. thats like an m3 today costing about 120-150k, thats nuts.

              $35k was a nice chunk of change for the late 80's especially for a 3 series that started under $20k. They weren't going to sell a ton of them but that's alright, they weren't made for sales.

                  I think they were referring to the M3 in general as the best selling M model, not the E30 specifically because we know that's not true.
