Not really. Keep in mind, the more weight you shed, the harder it is to shed weight. He's still 300lbs shy, and he's already done all the CF/FG and lexan stuff.

Do you want a light track car that handles well? Drop the few big items off your car that you don't need, and spend your time, money, and effort on the events themselves.

Do you want to tell everyone you have a 2000 lb E30 to a bunch of forum people? Do what Liam did and just make it up. Simple.

If the 85 lbs is correct I figured there is at least another 15 lbs in skinning the hood/trunk and leaxaning the sunroof. We shall see............
wow, 85lbs is alot for just the rear doors, i might have to try that!

I removed alot from my track car, and i'm hopping for 2200-2300lbs. 2000lbs would be crazy light and crazy money!

I think those numbers are conservative considering I am at 2450 with essentially the same weight reductions performed except body panel, bumper or window replacement. I would figure on another 100lbs easy with those changed.

Those of you who really want a lightweight e30 should seriously consider early Euro e30s. In stock trim, they weight 2400lbs...
Brake harder. Go faster. No shit.

Yep. My fully loaded '85 323i was ~2620 lbs. iirc. That's with all of the electric options, leather, and added US DOT safety ballast (ie. door bars and bumper reinforcements).
