A lot I like, a little bit, not so much. I assume you got a whole car, and plan to un/re modify it to your needs.

Yep, I did indeed get the whole car!

Just thought I'd post a few several-weeks-old work-in-progress pics intentionally cropped to "keep it interesting". Perhaps a bit premature in sharing them online (missing Roundel & lettering on decklid & missing side marker in the shot of the nose....but, did you notice the flush smoked turn signals in that front bumper?). Based on the feedback from folks that have seen it on the lift firsthand, however, I believe it will be pretty nice once we finally pull it outside the shop for some decent photos.

Wanted to have finished product ready in time to debut for some test & tune in the DE at Gateway, but now it looks like O'fest may be the first actual event although it will certainly be driven around town as soon as we finish with the interior mods.

Hey Mike-- will this car see as much, er... chassis revision.. as the last red car? Just wondering if you were going the same/similar route with the rear suspension. That car was wild when I got a chance to check it out a couple years ago at Daytona.. This one looks very cool as well.

              Engage Tractor beam!

This will be one of the coolest street legal BMWs in the USA....

              I can't wait.

If Mike executes even half of his ideas for this machine.... oh man. Delisch.

This street driven car will have some chassis revision tricks as well.;););)

Unfortunately, I won't be able to get this one quite as light as the previous #03 red race car. The passenger seating also required changes to cage design and exhaust system compared to the red car you saw at Daytona. If you saw the interior, you might recall that the passenger side floorboard was covered with electronics, pumps, cool-suit setup, battery, fire bottle, and helmet blower system. The desire to keep this car capable of carrying a passenger and remaining totally street legal forced new locations for these items that mandated maintaining the stock exhaust exit location. I believe, however, that despite the elimination of Petty bar, all of the DOT mandated non-race essentials, and relocation of all of the components that were in the floorboard of the red car, this chassis will be stiffer and better balanced than any of my previous versions. Hopefully, it will still be reasonably quick despite the added weight resulting from being street legal and able to carry a passenger. :D

Red car is gone... But I hope your assessment is reasonably close to accurate, at least as far as a 20 year old chassis is concerned.
I think folks might like the audio system as well.;)

If it's anything like the audio system that the #03 car had it will be excellent. Will the engine be prepped to a similar spec or is this one going to have a big engine? I need to hook up with your "suspension tweaker".. My chassis would thank me.

Yep, can't help but be known as such considering the pilot! I am pleased to announce it is equipped with Massive Brakes BBKs front and rear, so it will have phenominal stopping power!

I'd love to see this car along with the DTR One Lap car at the same event side by side. Two wild e30 widebodys with different themes together.

                          Nice.

Who knows? Been contemplating taking my much more comfortable SC EXT for a One Lap adventure in the truck/suv class as well.

                                So hot... moton/ohlins + s38? nice!

It also makes total sense to use as many off the shelf parts as possible since racing = replacing parts :)
