    Bending Struts

Any words of advice? Not on me doing the bending but are there any drawbacks i should know about?

what are you talking about? Are you doing this to get more camber?

it works, the only real drawback is it's not adjustable. whatever you get is what you're stuck with.

Thanks, I use camber plates allready so getting things to match up when done shouldn't be a problem and i know who can do the bending. I was hoping i could find someone with experiance. I just want to know what to expect and if there might be reliability issues.

how much camber are you looking to get if you already have plates? >3.5? Have you checked the temp of your tires to confirm you actually need more?

Problem with bending struts is that the rubber will often contact the strut.
Brake harder. Go faster. No shit.

This is what I'd be concerned with. You typically want to fit as much rubber as possible between your fenders and your strut tube, bending the housing will decrease the max possible tread width.

Thanks, i will have to do some figuring and see if my current tire setup will work with the extra 1.5 degrees negative camber i would like to gain with the bending process. I hope i havent forgotten to much geometry from my highschool days.

Yup. Because if it were bent at the top or center, the insert wouldn't fit in anymore ;)

BTW after the strut is bent, it is a good idea to gusset it.

What is the approximate clearance change for a 15" wheel with 1.5 degrees of strut angle change?

I had this done on my 03 1.8t that I didn't care much for...got -1.5 iirc on each corner w/o camber plates. But I don't think I would do it if you had good shocks etc... seems a little hokey...
