Got a bit more work done today on the transmission tunnel. Cut and welded 4 supports, cut the pipe that was blocking the path of the driveshaft, and mounted the other halfshaft so it doesn't take up space on the shelf...

I am going to have to purchase some floor mount pedals because the stock assembly isn't going to fit in the tiny footwell. I also have to contact Tilton to figure out how the throwout bearing should be sitting in the bell housing because it doesn't seem correctly mounted. Roll bar progress should be starting on Tuesday and my heads will be finished Wednesday. Once the roll bars are made, I can finish up the frame!!!! It feels fantastic to sit in this thing with the [mostly] finished transmission tunnel. Seeing your dreams or visions become reality is the most amazing feeling in the world.

Here is what remains to be done before D-Day:
    - mount the engine and transmission
    - get a driveshaft made
    - finish the brakes and steering
    - buy/make and install a gas tank
    - install the electronics

And on top of that list, here is what will need to be completed before I can officially call it done:

    - create fiberglass body
    - Furnish interior
    - Design and install sound system/helmet communications
    - Lots o' paint
    - (4) Bike mufflers
    - Install Lighting systems

I've been away from there for a while, dabbling in e36 world, but now I'm back since getting my e28 roadworthy again.

Def in to see this thing finished! Love what you're doing!

Race-trim should be around 1600lbs, road spec will be more in the region of 1700. That includes interior amenities, sound system, and... thats it actually.

No one makes this car anymore. The government won't allow them, normal people won't buy them. So it's up to us: the freaks, the weirdos, the informed. To buy them, to appreciate them, and most importantly, to drive them.

Side pipes, and if I can fit a crossover (H-pipe) under the oil pan I will do so. Otherwise its just going to be the stock 3-1 headers with two pipes on each side. Four bike mufflers and [maybe] cats.

I would never think of giving up, let alone this far in!

I promise this project isn't dead, it's just been dormant with full time work and all.

Any ideas of what your weight distribution will be? I'm impressed with the 3d model.
I too am thinking on doing a similar project once i have a garage at my disposal. I was actually thinking of going with a lighter engine such as an m42 and do FEA on frame structure to achieve the best strength and power/weight ratio.
As well as 50/50 weight distribution, or closest.
