Well after I do this one and if it turns out well, I'm hoping to someday recreate a 50's maserati 250F with a m50. You could get started on that! :) The only thing that drew me away from it was the problem of the gearshift linkage. Wasnt sure how it was gonna happen. Maybe a porsche 944/928 transmission? Anyways, just thoughts!

Very cool! judging by your start date you're no longer in high school?

It might be a bit late for this, but it might be interesting to see how the BackDraft Cobra replica is put together since it utilizes BMW 5-series suspension/diff (though it's E39, not E28).

Thanks guys. As to the high school graduation, that is correct. I'm actually on my last day of traveling in Australia as I write this. When I get home, it's right back to work ;)

The engine pictured is an M73 that I wanted to buy but was sold before I returned from home, so sadly I'm "stuck" with the M70. I'll make the most of it when I rebuild it; if I don't swap engines for more N/A power (looking at another M73 or Mercedes 6 liter M120) ill go twin turbo on this thing. I plan on rebuilding it with ARP studs and all new hardware. The transmission is a G265 and the custom bell housing in the pic is what I just purchased from a friend to mate it to the V12. Clutch setup is a custom made 11lb flywheel from the uk (sounds cooler if its imported), Tilton OT-II 7.25" clutch, and stilton hydraulic throwout bearing. I plan on using this car regularly as long as the sun is out, so I've been paying a lot of attention to OEM usability and reliability. I'm trying to use as much of the stock functionality as I can, which is the reason I removed the entire wiring harness. SkiFree, thanks for the link, I'll check it out.

So you stuck two M20s together?

J/K, this is awesome. I'm an ME student at a tech school and we don't even do shit like this. So jealous.

Wow I didn't realize how long it's been since my last post. Here are a few pictures to get everyone else up to speed. Finished the floor (except for the X's that I might add later), "dropped" the engine in to figure out where I need to mount it, and got halfway through the front suspension today. Hoping to get started on the sides as soon as the adapter for the hole saw arrives.
