Just sent the timeslip over to a friend of mine who is big into drag racing to get his suggestions, he also saying that looking at the current mph if I get a better launch I might just drop into high 13s. I don't know what it will take to get a 1.7-1.8 60ft though...Mtech1 v8 build thread - https://www.r3vlimited.com/board/sho...d.php?t=413205

It is very difficult to launch this damn thing, if I drop the clutch the whole rear end just hops, everything on the car is new, subframe/trailing arm bushings etc so it's not that. I tried slipping the clutch but still get lots of wheel spin and couldn't hook up 1st gear to save my life. This is on week old falken fk-452s treadwear 300 tires fwiw.
Anyways, going back next week on stickier autocross 30-40 treadwear tires and softer rear springs. It feels like it can do better with how it pulls 2nd/3rd gear but the 1st gear/lunch screws it all up.
Told you hehe dont bother going on a wednesday. You were a 10th faster than me . How did you launch I tried everything but in my case but I never did any better than when I rolloff the line in first gear. But anyways sacramento raceway is shit. you need to go when the prep the track.
A saterday race would be bestLast edited by 416stroker; 06-23-2010, 10:21 PM.84 318I Delphin RIP

What difference would it make if it's on saturday? I mean it was hot as shit today, but is the surface that much better on the weekend or something?
First time I tried launching at about 2500rpms or so and it was pretty horrible. Then on the next runs I basically tried to go easy on it but I get wheel spin going from 1st to 2nd, let alone trying to get off the line quickly.Mtech1 v8 build thread - https://www.r3vlimited.com/board/sho...d.php?t=413205

I know what you mean. I did the same thing when I went out.
Theres no track prep on steetlegal drags they dont alow high horsepower cars there. But they have a street class on certain saturdays. When they spay the track down because of the high horsepower cars.84 318I Delphin RIP

My guess is that you could do low 14s. You can definitely improve on the 14.7 you got.Originally posted by accidentI have achieved the title of Douche of the month.

I got the mph right. Good job with the short time, a 2.1 is actually pretty good for a street car, especially an E30 which is ridiculously hard to launch.
Improving the short time will improve the ET, but the mph won't change all that much. I think the general rule is for every tenth improvement in the short time, it's 2 tenths at the end, so a theoretical 2.0 60ft would be around a 14.5@97.
Good runs!

Since I was there I feel the need for a slight momentary threadjack (though not really)...
I pulled a 15.56 @ 91 in a stock m20 (with 19#'s, Miller MAF, 4.10lsd), on shitty (hard as ****) tires, and in a car that probably weighs 3,150 with me in it. If not more.
So, I'm happy (cause I'm a noob, and my expectations are low) with my night. I think eventually high 14's are possible with my car.
And Jean, if you'll be there next week, just an FYI, lanes 1-2 are 'fun runs' all night. So if you feel like sticking around, you could do a couple more runs without having to do the elimination stuff.87 325iC 90 325iC 88 325iC 87 325i 87 325iS 87 325eS

Your going to need a drag radial or slick to get the 60ft time down below a 2.0.
Did you air your tires down around 15psi? that would help hook better.Need a Turbo manifold? We have them in stock- Click here---> http://rapidspoolindustries.com/
