Just got done installing my VSR roll bar. Very nice fit. This thing is a tight fit highly recommended. Hardest part was wrestling the back seat in.NASA

nice cage but remember that not everyone trailers their cars to the track or wants to have their melon caved in by a bar when they do drive it on the street. so a 4-pt like the vsr/kirk/autopower is a reasonable compromise for those that still need to drive their cars on the street.Comment

Some claim yes, others claim no.
I know that on some cars, after installing the bar, the doors open/close much easier when the car is jacked up than prior to the install. On other cars, it makes no difference. I suspect it is more a factor of chassis fatigue over time that makes the difference.

awesome cage! I'm not serious enough to be willing to pay the price.
if only i had the know-how and the right equipment [sigh]
nice rice points, but when you're stuck to your seat and the roof caves in you wish you had the 3pt belt on.No more e30s for me.

Good info, been wondering about this. I'm using a schroth "street harness" and have wondered about its penalties.
I guess I'll try not to roll over till I get a bolt in roll barCosmos 03/95 M3 Daily

^^^Have you tried one yet?
That thing is a total nonsense. When you tighten the shoulder belts, the buckle goes up you belly. Tighten more. Goes even higher. Did I mention that the only safe location for the lap belt is around your pelvic bones? Not to mention the danger of severing all your internals when submarining. Ever wondered why 4-point harnesses were banned from motorsport 25 years ago?
BTW - Others may have a different opinion. I had two Rallye Shrott belts and hated them.
If all you want is to stay put in your seat, I highly suggest a simple device called CG Lock that works on your stock 3-point belt.

Have fun. I bought one for $400 and sold it for the same price. There's a few threads on here documenting my "experience" with it. I'd say you're safer with no cage at all. At least you won't have broken bones in fender benders, like you probably would with that cage.Comment

Thanks for the imput Massive. I like to hear others experiences. I was aware of cg lock but at the time the schroth Rallye made more sense.
You need to use a "tightening sequence" to avoid that. First loosen shoulder straps and fully tighten waist, then adjust and tighten shoulders last so the waist does not move up.
I've used it for autoX for a year now, use factory belt on the street.Cosmos 03/95 M3 Daily

When using Shrott's 4-point harness, on frontal impact, the upper torso will project forward pulling the lap belt up, allowing the body to submarine. Unlike a regular 3-point belt where the forward movement of the upper torso applies tension on the lapbelt, keeping the pelvis in the seat.Brake harder. Go faster. No shit.
