Thats why you get a real diff and don't piddle with the stock diff. I've never had problems with the stock lsd "fading" until I got past the 300whp mark.

Although I dont like it when people use the excuse "its a drift car" when the car looks like complete ass, I dont think a $10k paintjob is necessary when your body may only make it through a couple events before getting scratched & destroyed.
In MY opinion the focus should be on making the car perform properly before looking awesome, others disagree. So if you are on a particular budget & building a drift car I definately think that if body work & paint is on your list of things to do then it is an acceptable excuse.Originally posted by e30lovsweet a mk4 jetta, haven't seen one of them for about 14 seconds

I know in nissan diffs people just over pack the clutchs and it raises the lock. and it's real easy and cheap

The bimmer world clutches help lock up some too FYI.

I haven't done much in the way of E30 drifting, but I've done a little bit in a couple friends cars but no where near a drift day. Welded diffs are great if you don't daily the car, I like Toe in (1/8), not a whole lot of static rear camber, and steady state understeer (makes it easier to recover for me).
By the way 'manji' is just a Scandinavian flick.

I mean everyone that has raced this road knows that it has close to no traffic at all, and we always have people watching out for traffic way ahead of any danger at all. Anyway ive raced this road for almost 4 1/2 years with no problem at all not even so much as a ticket (always got kicked out by cops but never cited). I guess my say the people that have fun on this road know enough about it to not to give a shit about being on the wrong side of the road.
Btw I didnt take any offence to what was said, I just wanted to say im old enough to know whats right from wrong and my wrong doing is my buisness. If its illegal well I hope the cops themself catch me for it till then ill keep doing what I do best ...Sliding canyons.
Sorry....
And Now Back To The Thread... I wanna say good shit getting all this info I think its kool to know what people are running and how they feel about their own setups. Its giving me ideas on what to do next with mine.sigpic(OO=[][]=OO)
