I think it just looks so much cleaner with the seat in, there's no way you can create anything that looks better even if there is no function. It would be one thing if I pulled the carpet and door cards it would be dIffetent

If you are putting a roll bar in your car and are worried about back seat aesthetics, you do not need a roll bar.

          McCall, thanks for the info!

Looks and sound deadening like you mentioned, plus autox rules as McCall mentioned.

Yea I shouldn't give a crap about the looks or the extra sound from having the back seat out but I kinda do for the few times I take the car out for a spin not on the track.

I'm also adding a stereo back into the car after the previous owner removed it to save weight. (I want to be able to listen to something during the 1.5-4 hour drives to/from the tracks in my area.)

          I know... I have issues.

Yea, I can't give you too much crap, my track car still has AC and a stereo. Until I can afford a truck and trailer, the extra weight of those parts are very very welcome.

At least in an e30 you have the rear bulkhead keeping most of the noise out! My E36 is straight through to the trunk from the passenger compartment, and it's loud. I'm not putting the rear fold down seats back in anytime soon though, they're soooo damn heavy!

I might when I drive it the 20-odd hours to CA, but barring loooooong road trips, the rear interior stays out.

You guys in the USA are lucky to have companies that sell pre-fabricated roll bar kits. We in Australia have to have them made up and they (roll bars) cost double what you guys are pay`n!!

That not unreasonable at all to ship something that big LTL freight. That is roughly the same rate I was quoted two weeks ago to ship a roll bar.

My cost from VSR is $595 for the bar and estimated $150 freight. It's a fair deal in my eyes.

So whats the deal with this? When will they be available? I would love to get this as it would greatly save me shipping costs. Getting the VSR bar to California is expensive.

I'd like to add something here.

I am not sure why everyone votes the Kirk bar over the Autopower. From every photo of Kirk fitment I have seen, my Autopower fits much tighter. I have the street bar in my turbo car and I am very happy with the quality and fitment. I bought it in 2006 if that makes a difference.

They're still in the process of being made. ETA is still in the air but it is past the original ETA if that's any inclination of how much longer. Hoping to get my hands on one of the first ones made to show fitment pics.

Thanks for the heads up dude! I'm guessing you'd be ordering these from the Ohio location since you are on the East coast, is it safe assume that these will be made available at their Santa Barbara, California location too?
