Why aren't there more turbo M20 track cars?

Drifting I'd imagine they'd be fine at, every sideways windshieldsticker hipster seems to have a turbo. Then again, drifting is the figure skating of motorsports.

Yes, for w2w racing it's obviously Spec E30 or bust. It's big money to try to compete in any of the TT* classes...or to be prepped properly, at least. Of course, I haven't even seen a single one.

By track car, I just meant a car well-suited for driving at 10/10ths for an extended duration. Good power, grip, brakes, blah blah. Not a true race car.

Understood. All else being equal, an FI car will not be able to drive at 10/10ths for as long as an NA car can. To obtain similar reliability, serious time and expense needs spent on tuning, quality parts (this is r3v...), and overbuilt bulletproof cooling system. The primary issues for FI cars seem to be heat soak and cooling related, not engines exploding from too much boost. Solve the cooling/heatsoak issue and run a solid conservative (not dyno queen) tune, and you should be able to last longer on track before having to back off.
