BMW E30 Carbon Fiber Roof Skin Complete

We are thinking about producing a mold for a complete bmw E30 roof skin in CFRP. You would need to cut the complete OEM roof and rivet and silicone the new one on. It can also be molded at the corners and blended with paint to look smooth and factory.

We would like to see how many would be interested. Please keep in mind this is for race application ONLY.

Price will be less then 1K.

Thanks and have a great day,

Why silicone? Why would you not bond the carbon roof on and make it structural? Use Plexus MA 300 Methacrylate adhesive or something similar.

Weight savings better be significant for near 1k. Also, why not just make hardtops for verts?

I would be interested definitely I'm going to be sealing mu sunroof anyway so if you produce this as long as it's somewhat cost effective as car as carbon fiber gets I'd be down
Float like a cadillac sting like a Bimmer!:)

3M Scotchweld product of your choice, or jb weld may even work decently.

Not sure I'm on board with bonding carbon to steel though.

Mold will be pulled from OEM roof so fittment will not get beter then what we manufacture. Please also note that this piece is not for SHOW. YOU WILL NEED TO CUT YOUR ROOF.

The transition of the carbon fiber piece and OEM Roof panels will be noticeable at the corners unless boned into the car and painted for a factory look.

The roof doesn't weigh much once you remove the sunroof assembly.
