You could save a little bit of money (and gain a lot of reliability) by getting the lines made with steel, crimped Aeroquip (Eaton) fittings instead of doing them yourself with parts from Summit. Just find any industrial hose supplier (there's TONS in Houston) and they'll do whatever you need.

unevolved, can you recommend a shop that does this? If there's one thing I'm terrible at, it's finding a place to do something for me. I tried for a few weeks to find a mythical "machine shop" to drill and tap something for me, ended up just buying the tap.

Can anyone comment on the quality of rubber hoses clamped to barbs for an oil cooler?
namely this system (I realize I'll have to find m22 barbs for the engine side)

I recently bought a new clutch fan, new cx racing aluminum rad, and deleted my condenser and installed the euro aux fan brackets in order to keep the aux fan.

Drifting in 90* heat this weekend, bouncing off the limiter with my turbo car, barely made it to the halfway mark on the gauge.

Thats actually really good to know!

Although by the time I get my car on the track, 90* will sound unrealisitically nice

Do you have any oil cooler?

barb fittings work just as well as AN fittings, they just dont look as sexy. If you go this route make sure you get good oil hose that wont break down after a while.

That is definitely excellent to hear! I might go this route, and I think I actually have a cheap tube and fin lying around. Then I'll get the radiator set, and get a good dyno tune, and the car should be set for the track!

Yep, barbed fittings will work just fine if they're the appropriate size. If they're sized right, you can't hardly pull the hose off, even if there's no clamp.

I've gotten some stuff made by Hufco off Hempstead Hwy, and they've worked fine. I haven't really shopped around, though, so I can't say how their prices compare.

Okay thanks! And you aren't runnign MS are you? Asking because I'd love recommendations for a tuner. I found a place right nearby, and they say they tune MS, but apparantly not all tuners are born equal

Nope, I'm not. Sorry. And yeah, they're definitely not. I'd go for someone that has experience with the M20, not just someone that's good with MS.

I have the mishimoto Z3 S54M and that Ebay one (at least in the pic) looks the same in every way. It probably just doesn't have the mishimoto branding on it but is probably made in the same factory. It probably does not have as good of warranty as one branded as mishimoto but it is half the price...

Definitely. A good oil cooler will make a huge difference in oil temps. Lower oil temp not only takes some thermal load off the cooling system, but also helps prevent the oil from breaking down. If you're using oil to cool your turbo (like old Porsches), the difference is even bigger.

Did anybody suggest Water Wetter? (Most tracks require it anyways, right?)

I used to have over heating issues while waiting in grid at drift events. After the first event I switched to WW and an electric fan set to manual. On my runs it never creeps past the middle mark, when pulling into grid I just flip the switch and I'm good to go.

Mind you this is NA so I'm sure with a turbo you would definitely need extra cooling help!

I prefer a cooler with AN fittings. To plumb the cooler I have a hose shop make up new lines that have the OE fittings on the engine ends and AN fittings on the cooler ends.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Most tracks disallow antifreeze, so water/water wetter is the obvious choice.
