Here is our track car. 1984 318i with M10

as basic as can be. one more switch to be added. for a LED dome light, its hard after nightfall to find everything to get buckled in.
Edited: there is also a truck rubber mud flap that is cut to the shape of the floor, just to save paint and a lil comfort.
sigpic1984 318i Total conversion to a DIRT race car.

$100??
I made mine from aluminum...a sheet of 32"x48" 16 gauge aluminum was $30. I also made a door panel from that sheet...

They played for having it done right the first time by a skilled craftsperson. Just about everything costs less if you do it yourself, but you're investing in someone else's knowledge and experience. $100 is not a bad deal.Comment

Are you heading out from Gainesville? We should roll up together.
The colors can be changed to anything, so a less disco-time look would be possible, just trying to figure out something that can be seen easily all times of days.Last edited by squidmaster; 04-05-2014, 12:08 PM.Comment

Bringing the thread back from the dead. "Finished" (are we ever really finished?) this weekend. Filled cracks in the dash with bathroom caulking (stays flexible) then flocked it with material from flockit.com. Switches and lights from Radio Shack. Replaced the econo-meter with the fuel gauge, mounted VDO water temp and oil pressure gauges where the OEM fuel and temp gauges were. Tire pressure monitor, AFR and oil temp gauges in the center stack.Comment
