Sadly no video, though. I'd have liked to shown some asshat losing it today and spinning out in front of me!!!!!
Charlie, you missed a good one.
High point of the weekend: My instructor saying "Let's pull off so you can get some space in front. That M Coupe is seriously cramping your style....and yes, you do have style."
Low point of the weekend: Pointing by some senior citizen in his Mini with a vanity plate that said "Kermee". At least I can take consolation in the fact that it was a JCW Cooper S :(
All in all, it was an awesome weekend. It was fun hanging out with Dave and Heeter. Good thing we got that battery tie down issue fixed at the first motel tech session...

track....
GREAT STUFF.......
Dave what wheels u running?......14 steelies?...I like the stealthy look. Didnt you sell K!'s.......???????whats the plan on wheels? You will be addicted for sure. Sounds like you did well. I cant believe the R could not catch the euro. Is it a tight track or does it have long straights? Those R's can be fast when driven well.....but I guess so can a lite euro 85!!!!! Ive heard other schools failing the chasecams as well. So how did car feel suspension wise.....understeer/oversteer.......????????how was ride ht, etc. Do you run stock seats/.....? I bet you were being tossed around alot if so.
RWH....car looks good....but your lip sure looks chewed up......from street driving or track beatings?...........I love sitting down and just driving!

I am running VW 14" Steelies with Falken Azenis RT-215. For now. Not sure what the plan is for wheels - these are fine for now. When I get to the point that I need more rubber, I'll do that, but Charlie has been running on 14s for a long time and I am not at his skill level, so . . .
I am certainly addicted. I was after the NASA event last fall, but this one was so much better, I am already planning the next one.
Putnam has one long straight up front - the rest is a good mix of turns.
They told me I could run the Chase Cam with a rear headrest - so I am in the market for one I could just pop in during schools.
The first day I had a little oversteer going - I think the rear settings on the GCs were the culprit as I lowered them for Sunday and the oversteer was not there like it was the first day. The ride height was fine.
I run stock cloth sports - which grip fairly well. I am not exactly skinny, so I fill the seat farily well. I forgot to bring my CG Lock, so I was bracing my self a litle at times in the turns.
On my agenda now -
1. Get the fuel pump (or whatever it is) fixed;
2. New radiator ( mine developed a small seep on the driver side where the plastic meets the metal - and it has 185k on it, so that's not too bad)
3. New muffler - mine is a tad bit rusty, though the cat and pipes are good.
4. Consider renting a trailer next time and borrowing my father-in-law's truck to tow it.Current Cars2014 M235i2009 R56 Cooper S1998 M31997 M3

Apparantly being off line doesn't mix with a wet off-camber turn?! I should have ignored the classroom guy and just drove that like I always do, just slower.
Yea, I learned that one.

I went back to the regular line and just listened to the seat of my pants when it started to get that "uh-oh" feeling. I only started to slip a little in 4 once, but I was the mad dorifto coming off 8 twice.
I think what I learned in that run contributed an awful lot to my picking up big speed later on Sunday.Current Cars2014 M235i2009 R56 Cooper S1998 M31997 M3

balls to wall...

It was loud, vibrated a lot, and had power, but big V8 is definitely not my style.
Makes sense.....I know I run conservatively most of the time.....maybe 7 or 8 tenths at most. I built this e 30 to track and I still drive it like a waffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffles. I would love to try a big honker v8 on the track......like a 69 RS camaro w/ a track suspension......YEOOOOW!!!!!!!!!! probably never happen though as prices at places like barret jackson are thru the roof. Non matching number restored cars are like over 50 k and its screwing up market......Ill take a vintage 911 for that price.I love sitting down and just driving!

Scott and my son chowing down at Saturday night's banquet. I think this is the only time Scott wasn't smiling.
Heeter can't properly open a beer without getting it on himself . . .
Heeter's fast like a little more rake than mine . . .
Scott zipping out of turn 10 . . .
Earlier, Scott was leading the express train through 10 . . . ;)
I loved the way it went through the corners when I pushed it like my instructor told me to . . .
I didn't love the ride home . . .
