RPM hurts parts plain and simple.

that's why i prefer cubic inches and the inherent low rpm band that results its easier on the valvetrain and some aspects of the bottom end

^ I am also lost, I thought we were speculating on failures but heck I'm just having a good read now. I laughed about the m30 thing, It was clever but I guess you get ahold of whatever you can for a lemons car. Again idk and have no experience in Lemons but this has turned into a very entertaining thread.

Shoot, nothing is bullet proof on the track. Two seasons, and just about ANY motor will need a refresh. This was the first season I haven't had to replace the motor at any point. Course, I was only able to get out for a hand full of races due to family, budget, schedules..etc.

I am still so confused what is going on in this thread.. (Seems like people are being ripped on for not racing, and then being ripped on for racing..)

i've blown a few of those on track. they're not bulletproof without a decent investment of $$$ into the oiling system, stock they have a pretty bad over-oiling and left-turn starvation problem, in addition to a fairly narrow powerband.

I'm Kinda curious are you going to throw another m50 in and race again?
Id like to see how many hours it would last as an experiment.

My question is why are you even bringing it up on r3v OP? This place is clearly below your pay grade as you've stated. So why are you here? Old man trolling? You can't be that old, you haven't mastered the art yet.
So what's the real reason? Sure your used 24v motor blew in your lemons car. That makes you absolutely no different from the teenagers here who swapped a used 24v motor into their high school haulers. Maybe you should get more serious about lemons? Racing is racing, it costs money to play. Just because some of us don't partake doesn't mean we don't know what we are talking about. It just means we have other passions and drivers. Complaining about grenading a motor in an endurance track car is dumb. No shit your used motor blew up dummy. What did you expect. Build one, take care and it won't grenade as quickly? My advice, but then again what do I know, I don't race lemons.
I am, sure that I could if I cared to work on a shitty nerd car every weekend with my friends, but I choose to drink beer and work on different shitty nerd cars with my friends. But I guess that's below your pay grade, so you wouldn't get it.
    EDIT
And btw, PB is a saint, don't be nasty. If you have 2 hours to spare maybe a phone call would help you out. You are clearly at his level though, I mean you build race cars, he builds race motors... It's the same.
