Rocco - are you using a 3.5" MAF? If so, do you have any more pictures? I ask because I've been doing a lot of experimenting with my intake, with a setup very similar to yours...
I'm not using a 3.5. I just used a Mishimoto intake boot with the KAmotors intake and a BLOX velocity stack. No dyno results, but I can't see how it wouldn't at least keep my intake temps down some.
Yes, I did make the splitter. The splitter itself is currently made of wood. I want to make sure size and shape are right before I go through making a fiberglass one. If I can lose the front valence and bumper to reduce weight I may just stick with the wood, because it's easy to replace, strong, and resists abuse.

I see. I'm just trying to do the same thing and keep the temperatures down. One of the biggest challenges in running ducting from my velocity stack is the frame where the hood latch is located. It's directly behind the headlight, so it seems like the only way to get a duct around it is to use a flexible duct like Scat or Skeet duct.
Hey Rocco, good to see you here! I was the other e30 down at CMP on Memorial Day. You should post some detail pics of some of the stuff you showed me like your battery relocation. For those who haven't seen it in person, Rocco has a seriously well done car.

I have flexible ducting right now. The cool part about the stack that I have is that it barely fits in the headlight hole, and it is too big to come out through the grill, so it just stays where it needs to be without a bracket or something else to hold it in place. In the future (when I put my supercharger on there) I plan on ditching the stock radiator support for a custom tube frame up there so I have space to keep my velocity stack and more room for an intercooler.
Matt, good to see you too. I'll snap a couple more photos when I get a chance and share them.
