    ix for autox...am I nuts?

Well recently married and a new house is changing around all my priorities. I am going on my 6th season of autoxing and am unsure about what car I want to use. I have a completely stock 88 is and 91 ix. For the past two years I have been using the is. I want to sell one of the cars and really don't want to sell the ix. I have a complete suspension kit off a donor car (bilstein sports w/ h&r's) also with a complete drive line (front, rear, and center diffs) for the ix. Has anyone had any bad problems or comments on autoxing an ix?

it can be done just fine.. but it desperately needs more camber up front.

it will cost you quite a bit to keep it up in terms of suspension (control arms and half shafts). I am pretty shure that splines will not be happy to abuse either. It has also more parts that can break (diff, transfer case).

The Ix handles awsome stock but with new suspension and somehow taking care of the understeer this car is awsome. I do it all the time.

hey nando.. how much more camber did you get by just lowering it? and how much more with the modified plates? and how much untill i start eating tires up. i plan on daily driving my ix and auto'x it.

I think he said that he modified the strut mounts for like neg 3 degrees camber up front.

im mostly worried if i drop my ix 2 inchs, I hope I won't have to much neg. camber witch will eat up my tires for daily driving

you aren't going to get any significant amount of camber up front just by lowering the car.

you will gain some but not as much as you would from lowering a regular E30. but you will have more in the back than in front, which isn't a good thing...
