    Solo 2 Classification Help

I have reviewed the SCCA Solo 2 '07 rule book and some other sources and just cant place the car. I am pretty sure I can run DSP but would like to know if I could run STS or STX? I cant tell... Here are the details, hopefully you can help. I would like to order the magentic numbers before my first event.

    Car spec

'88 BMW 325is 2.5l 6cyl 2 door 4 seat with factory limited slip diff, factory wheels

Aftermarket, non OEM: frnt & rear sway bars, shocks, springs, bushings, braided brake lines, cone air filter, catback exhaust, camber plates, strut bars, after market wheel studs, ECU chip

I believe the car could run DSP, but I would like to know if it could run in the street tire class since I do not have the budget this yr to run R DOT tires.

    Yes, it is STX eligible.

      Thanks

I got an email back from SCCA and apparently it is STX and DSP or TDSP (PAX indexed street tire class).

Hope this thread can be of values to others.

        Reading the rulebook kicks ass.

Sounds like a local class for cars that are prepped to SP levels, but running street tires. Kind of what ST is intended for, but if you have an airbag steering wheel that you replace with a race wheel, you can't run ST.

A few of the local ax club here in north Texas run PAX indexed classes for prep cars with street tires. Thats what the "T" in TDSP designates. It is an neat option especially if you car doesnt quite fit STS or STX and you dont have R DOT tires.

DSP, unless the SCCA is playing with the m42 cars again.

The M3 is in CSP (if I remember right) so technicaly his car would go to a racing class. The M3 needs to be on the same line and in the same class.
