Wow. Seems strange to me that the blueprints would be inaccurate. But stranger things have happened.

I've never seen a 1.0 in person, so I was just going by the blueprints. Nothing beats test-fitting the wheels on your car. That's why I was asking if you had a chance to try the 1.3's yet. According to the specs, they have the same clearance as the 1.2's. But I don't trust that enough to order a set.

No idea. I didn't ask about them.

I'd rather not have a weak set of wheels at 90 mph in turn 9 at Willow.
You have some pretty unrealistic expectations! Do you honestly expect a 15x7" wheel that weighs just 13 lbs. and costs just $99 to also be strong enough to deal with a daily diet of potholes, frost heaves, and other abuse? Driving on the street is generally much tougher on a wheel than driving on the track. I don't know many 13 lbs. wheels at ANY price that would hold up to regular street (ab)use.

The more I read about other wheels, the closer I'm coming to buying a set of 6UL's. No, they're not perfect, but Emilio is at least honest about the compromises they represent. http://forum.miata.net/vb/showthread...et#post3325173 (scroll down 3 posts to his next one, also.)
    Agreed.

Where do they say that? In their description of the 1.3, they say:
We have proven that these wheels will take a beating - multiple track weekends on this design have resulted in zero bent wheels, even while hitting curbs on the track very hard. This wheel is similar in appearance and uses the same dimensions of the Pro Race 1.2, but weight has been reduced. Tipping the scales at 13.2 pounds, this is the perfect legal wheel for the Spec E30 class.

Yeah I noticed that but based on the ET specs they list those wheels would need a 10-15mm spacer which would help with clearance.

I doubt that 949Racing's 6UL 15"x8" wheel offers anymore clearance. I think it is even less. Look at the wide lips, and how the ends of the spokes are inset.

Maybe have to step up and buy Kosei's or something else then. The 949 in 8" wide is tempting as well.

VTSkinny, curious to see the fitment on the 15 x 8, keep up updated.

They must be real track wheels then. Like some Compomotive, which clearly states (and casts) that some wheels are track-only).

BTW Emre, two years ago, I was sent blueprints by Bimmerworld and Rimstock/100+ in the UK, which were not accurate. Having seen some 1.0s and 1.2s and the difference in clearance is evident.

The 3mm spacer did not push it past the smaller diameter section of the barrel. You still need to file off the corner of the caliper. The 3mm spacer did help a lot with spoke clearance on the D-force 15x7's though.

FYI, I should be doing a test fit of the TRM 15x8's with the sport kit this weekend sometime.

Yeah I read that, does it appear that a 3-5mm spacer would get it further away from the barrel, enough to not have to file the caliper down, correct?

I know it's not a structual area, but dropping that kind of coin on a kit, I don't really fancy the idea of taking a grinder to the calipers.

You're experience with the 1.2 is that its close, but fits with a 3mm spacer, correct?

If so, unless the 1.3 has even less room (which it looks like it has a bit more) it should fit. I'm considering going ahead and ordering these.

    That's too cheap.
    See my other post http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/show...0&postcount=20

You do need to file/grind off the corner of the caliper so that it doesn't rub on the barrel but the spokes have tons of clearance.

Talk to Paul @ TeamIlluminata.com, he will get you a good price shipped on any TD wheel you want. And they will build them exactly to your specs.
