I see E30's with M/S engines quite frequently at the track and most of those are primarily track rats.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Many are done for that very reason.

Mine is a race prepped CM car.

So are they competitive or just for fun? Not sure of how things gets classified and such.

Yeah, I was wondering about class as well. Does it automatically put you into a Super Modified type class like an Auto-X becasue you've changed blocks?

Mike Akard is competitive with his S50 car. Runs the same lap time as a Porsche GT3 Rolex car at Roebling.

mine is an HPDE car. s50 motor, e30 m3 5-lug, Turner J-stock suspension. It works well, needs some tweaking, but is a great, reliable car all around. I've run 15+ days on it with ZERO major issues.

Advice -- use poly engine mounts from AKG. The e28 rubber mounts will tear and put your motor through your radiator/core support. i caught mine about 10 laps before it was too late. Easy fix, this winter I'll install mounts that are less likely to tear like the rubber e28's I have been using for the past 15k miles.
