reCAPTCHA on the account registration fields?

The first 12 posts on General Discussion are spam.

    Image verification may be worthwhile?

Posts are deleted and offenders are banned as quickly and as often as possible.

I'm fairly sure James said he'd rather focus the necessary energy getting the new forum software implemented than enhance/band-aid the current version, and I agree that's the right call.

Since I work nights I usually hit them at 2:30am (lunch) and sometimes 5am (last break). If I don't, there will be 35+ spam threads waiting on me when I get home. It is getting a bit old, and hope that update is coming soon. Weekends I don't get to them, and thank the mod who is.

the other day I deleted and banned 45 spam posts at like 5am. 12 threads is a lot on the main page but realize you're not even seeing all of it. :(

it's been bad for a long time, at least a year and a half. we all hope the update comes soon as well!

That said, is there way to automate the process so that there isn't a bottleneck or become burdensome to the admins?

I went through each of them and I think I got all them all. If not, please flag them.
