SPAM - How to fix?

Spam, Scam, Robocalls, Junk Mail, Advertisements, this lust to sell us stuff and take our data.

Would it be realistic to be able to make R3V free from it?

Optional Subscription fees? I for one would like to buy back R3V from these parasites, In the end it would make a stronger community.

Thoughts?

Wasn't there a thread not too long ago, maybe a year or so ago, about how things were going to get better on the site?

I think it's just 2mAn and I, but 2mAn can't ban spammers and I only have "basic" admin abilities.

I saw JasonC was active a month ago, I sent him a PM since he does have admin powers, but I haven't heard back.

Really what we need is to fix the registration system. the captcha for registration is way too easy (what's 2+2, who makes the E30). But that requires input from James..
