Yeah that Fort Mason area is kinda... Laid back being right by the warf and all. FANTASTIC Spot for picture taking and the like. Not really great for night life, food, having a good time; especially on a Friday. But you would beat out the weekend tourist crowd so you have pluses there.
Honestly I think Santa Cruz would probably be a better area, given the GREAT driving conditions. Most of the inland roads are all wooded areas and make for some fantastic scenery. Then ability to really have some fun at the boardwalk and beach after some fun Twisties.
Or if you want to stay in SF, there is the SOMA district down by AT&T park. Great large areas, kinda industrial, but great clubs and dinner spots. Unless there is a Giants game then that area is a bit nutz
There is always the Pacifica area too. Maybe some of the SF cats know a place off the Aves or at the end of Geary along the PCH that would be nice. Meet on the beach, have a little BBQ and Bon Fire? That would be off the hook. I would definitely have to bring out the Smoker for that one! (I'm a Chef in SF btw)
Thinking about Monterey bay as well. There are a ton of spots down there for meets and lots of great places to eat and there is always the beaches there. Nothing like SoCal beaches but hey its different eh! Also some good driving there as well.
Although we could always start at Fort Mason and cruise out to Pacifica. Someone bring a football and we can play some tag football on the beach!
