Fan clutch might need replacing, but it's pretty easy to test. I went through all of that, replaced a blown fuse and a bad fan clutch, and it still overheated until I replaced the radiator. Good luck!-Kalim

Different models/years have different setups. My '89 325i has a 3-prong plug and you jump 1-2 for low-speed, 1-3 for high speed (not sure if I got the pins correct, but getting them wrong won't hurt). There are also two fuses and two relays in the fuse box. The relays should click when you jump the pins. If not, test fuses. If fuses test good, but no clicking, you have a bad relay. If you get relays clicking, but no fan, might have a bad fan or bad resistor.

Turns out my head gasket is blow. After topping off this morning the coolant dissappearedMy friend diagnosed the rust on the tank lid as a bad gasket and when he opened the valve cover lid lots of steam came out...
So what do you think guys, time for i head?

I would start looking for a head. With all the overheating that's gone on, it might have warped or cracked.-Kalim

PS: If I keep the coolant topped off, can this gasket last me to the weekend without too much damage? Need to get my DD sorted out...Bronzit 4-door Swap Drifting somewhere
