Thank you Castro for the quick temporary fix.

AKG Reinforcement plates are next on the to-do list.

Broken parts: The perfect excuse for an upgrade

But seriously, that's the only reason why I'm still optimistic :???:

Sorry to hear Abby! One day I'll venture to this Castro's place ;)

no worries, life happens you work with it and persevere with it. Just like now if this car sells it sells if not i will try and fix it as much as I can afford to, which is very frustrating because I know I will need a new m50 bottom line which I will need a christmas miracle to afford.

On a side note anyone done clutch work before? might need to swap the dual mass for a lightweight flywheel and I've never done that before.

id say just trade it for a clean 87-90 325is with a m20. Its cool and all to have a m50 with a WoW maybe 20 hp more. But its a pita to work on and find cheap parts. I have yet to have m20 failure with both 325's ive had.

i think you should just find a trade for PB m20'd e30. ??

If I could find someone with a PB m20 that was clean and headache free but no one is biting at all. Either people are concerned with my honesty about what's wrong with the car or people don't want a project car. I lean towards the former considering the previous FS had a lot of attention with his vague description...

if it makes you feel any better, if i was looking for a car, i would have jumped on the one you bought feet first. it's easy in retrospect to say that something was a 'bad' decision, but from what the seller let on, it was a reasonably complete project. clearly he knew about the janky setup and that things were about to go south and didn't disclose it...but that's a whole other story.
