i don't really agree. using a good multi-coverage radar and basic common sense will get you out of most trouble. jammers are way too sketchy in my opinion.

in my time with my V1, i've realized that in GLA cops don't use anything besides judgement. that said, my V1 got me to phoenix in right around 5 hours and dodged me nearly a dozen traps and tickets throughout the trip.

the new detectors have gps and laser detectors in them anyways, plus it's only to help me keep off the pedal and be more aware. and it comes in handy for canyoning and such. doesn't hurt to have one.
                  I got a V1 a couple months ago and I love it.

I have had an Escort Passport 8500 x50 for about six years. I don't use it all the time, but it has worked well on the highways if the cop is using radar. If you get hit directly by laser then you are pretty much screwed either way imo.

At the very least it has helped me drive less agressive and in the end saved me from getting pulled over many a time when I passed a cop, that if I had seen him a minute or two earlier, would have pulled me over in heartbeat for driving like an asshole.

Edit: This radar detector also has a voltage display setting and actually tipped me off that my alternator was dieing before I got stuck on the side of the road with a dead battery!

i used to have one until it was stolen when they broke into my car, but it made my more cautious, and i rarely had any false readings. it saved me from a few tickets and that's what matters. not to mention some new devices have filters so you can manually block them if you clearly know it's false.

well that is exactly what my last one helped me do, and these new ones are even more accurate and i just need something to keep me alert all the time. and actually, that's the one i'm looking at right now, $275 for a brand new one shipped.

I might have to custom integrate one in to my car once its finished. I think it will be a cop magnet. Even more so then driving with half the front end missing
