You always seem to be an elitist prick about what badges people put on their cars, this guy has a homebuilt 2.8L turbo m50 monster sleeping under the hood, if he wants to put the M badge on its side whose to stop him? this car goes and makes a noise thats nothing to scoff at.

y u mad? It's just a badge and it just doesn't belong on the car. The fact I don't think it should have an M badge doesn't detract that the car looks gorgeous nor has a balls out engine. As I said in my post the car is stunning aside from that. Just my opinion the same as yours and the same as nigels for not liking green bimmers but he's not an elitist prick for that is he?

BMW themselves put M badges on cars much less "worthy" nowadays anyway, shouldn't you be re-doing your timing belt again?

I'm glad you're car has never given you issue's and you've always been in a fruitful position to not have had to deal with the shit I've had to. Thanks for being such an upstanding individual to society, clearly I'm such a low browed knuckle crawler to stoop down to the level of name calling and low blowing.

That nonsense aside I do agree that New BMW M has diluted itself down which is why nothing really appealed to me at bimmerfest except maybe the IND M5,which is an aftermarket build car, but the brand as a whole has lost it's roots with cars like the M550d and the X6M. They should just bring back the IS badges or even the Tii as before but eh they're concerned about sales more than anything else.

That being said, that car was built by hand you could say, it's got all the ingredients for fast fun on asphalt and looks fantastic; It carries an appearance package that stands it out of the run of the mill production car, the engine is highly altered from its stock form to deliver more power. Now correct me if I'm wrong, but i thought that was the original idea of bmw Motorsport division.

To a point yes (except BMW originally had one car, the turbo, as a M division car with forced induction outside of formula one) but I am an overtly technical person ( my coworkers hate and love me for this because I've saved their asses from so many audits this year) and minute details like that glare at me. Like I said the car is ridiculous the fact that it's a boosted M50NV just took it over the top for me as I didn't know that.

I don't think I've ever once said my car was better than anyone elses I down play my car because of the ass condition it's in. It need a respray and a PDR miracle worker along with a mint interior to even be considered presentable. But that all comes in time for me. Now that the engine is almost perfect, it needs a fuel line and a new fan blade I'll be able to focus on other area's of the car like the rear subframe and suspension and brakes.

But I digress, it's a great car, my or your opinion aside regarding minor details.

I agree, IF the car did not ship with the badges, or you don't have ALL the components that the badge sold with, leave it off. This is generally the same attitude in the American vintage collector circles.

Badges on a car that doesn't have the components make it feel like the owner is a poser.
