best way to remove paint from the intake? i used a non high temp paint and regret it. i need to do it right. i dont have a lot of money to throw at it, just want to get the regular paint off (or should i leave it as a primer and just use the high temp paint over it?)

Id would imagine that wouldnt work...id say you either need to sand it to remove it or sand blast it

You will need to remove it. when the underpaint flakes it will take what is on top with it.

well take the paint off yes. but I wasn't serious about polishing. a rough and scuffed but clean surface is the best for paint.

Aircraft stripper paint remover to take paint off
LAs awesome degreaser and a brass brush to prep
VHT engine paint.

Auto part stores always rotate paints on sale and oft have them at BOGO prices.

If you actually take the time to remove and clean the intake & VC from all grease and debris there's not a reason why the engine paint won't last.
