        Everything Matt said, I would add a paint sealant to the mix and invest in a good wax. Those two things will save you from buffing it every other wash. Mine sits outside but under an expensive cover which helps quite a bit.

          Id go easy on the rubbing compound. If it sitting outside throwing heavy abrasives at it will just speed up the problem. I'd cut it lightly a couple times with some carnuba wax then seal it. You could hit it with carnuba on top of the seal after, but should last at least 5 months before it needs treatment again. When you wash make sure you dont used dish soap, it will strip the wax off the car.
