Good Morning Gents. Im feeling pretty grateful today. I made a ballsy move and wrote a counteroffer on a job I really wanted and they actually gave me what I asked for! Maybe I wont be a broke ass Angelino!

Right but at the same time, I went to Castro's and had money, paid for everything that needed to be fixed, what made me mad is they spent the entire time they said they were working on my car on their own shop cars and when they told me it would be finished, it wasn't I sat there for two hours while they did EVERYTHING they were supposed to already have done.

I am not bashing Castro's in any way, I think they do great work, but I will not go back there after that experience.

I am not disagreeing with your statement, but people feel this way about Castro's, people who wont stand up and say anything, people that had to take their cars there 2 or 3 times to get it done right, or who gave up after the first time, and dealt with the problem, or took it elsewhere

I really wasn't intending to stand up for any shop in particular. I was just making a general statement about E30 owners and their relationships with shops. But that is bullshit if that's how you were treated. I agree! Customer service is EVERYTHING. I don't blame you for making the call of not going back. I think others that have had issues should speak up too BUT they should try to work out their issue with Chris beforehand if there is one.

Right i get that, And I think in general you guys are right about shops and most e30 owners

an e30 needs to be looked at as a classic car not as a brand new daily driver, especially considering the prices they are going for, that said they make angreat daily driver

But its like having any classic car, to drive as if they were new and be reliable expect to pay a lot of money for the car or for catching up its maintenance, the more you put into a vehicle the more you will get out of it 99% of the time

Its crazy its not for everyone and it doesnt matter if you are the worlds greatest rider, all it takes is for one moron on the road and your gonna have a problem...and in LA there are a lot of morons

On the note about E30 owners these days...I stopped by my buddies shop last week and saw a familiar M3 sitting there. I knew this car when it was owned by the previous owner and the new owner has dropped it off with a typical "to do" list. On the list are a bunch of simple things and a new dash install...well when they called him to tell him the price for the new dash installed, they never heard back. The car has been there for weeks and they have grown tired of having to move it around effectively storing the car. Here's someone who just dumped around 20k on an M3, yet doesn't have the knowledge, mechanic skill or the money to sustain it and perhaps not even a place to store it.

I can totally understand a shop's perspective. They would rather do typical maintenance on newer cars. Get them in and out without the drama.

What sort of help do you need? An extra pair of hands, or a place/tools to do the job? I'm always down to help but all my tools are in storage and my condo complex has rules about working on cars.

Dude, I'm genuinely excited for you. I've watched you grow up, coming from the PNW as a child, and now you're a young man with ambitions and goals. You are making moves to increase your quality of life. I respect that.
