Yeah, the cost of living is much higher, but it seems like the salary compensates for it pretty well.

I like the cheap cost of living where I am, but the job looks amazing and I'd never have to deal with seasonal depression again pretty much, so that's cool

The weather is great but there are still things here that make life difficult...but having just moved here from the midwest last year, I can't recommend it enough. Even if you don't end up out here forever, it's a hell of an experience.

Some good driving roads out east, lax vehicle registration / inspection laws (some counties don't even have emissions testing) and our politicians sure do hate science and them queers.

There are ways around your car being "legal". Ask 90% of any e30 owner with a swap out here. A few get them BAR'd but sometimes it's not worth it.

You'll love it here. Moved from Texas a few years back. Never looked back.

There's ways around everything, just ask here or make some friends - which you will. Turbo'd for almost 5 years no issue.

So uh, I'm guessing an itb'd M52 swapped e30 will be a hard thing to get legal in CA? Guess I'm gonna have to keep it registered in TN or something lol

I have my M52 running on OBD1 and plan to get it BAR'd (to make it legal). Its not that bad if you plan accordingly. I also plan on going a similar route as you, but step one is to make it legal for me. I dont think swapping the M50 intake and associated bits every two years is a big hassle and it helps the resale value if you are legal otherwise its out of state sales only.

My car still has WA plates on it and I still have my WA drivers license, so you could do the same until if/ when you decide to make it legal
