Why do you want a big brake kit? Your other options are Massive. CAtuned also has a kit but it looks like a copy of Massives

Brake kits are worth their weight in gold on 24v swapped cars.

Options for decent kits include IE, UUC, Massive, CaTuned, or any 5 lug set up currently available for the e30 platform.

I could be wrong but Massive is wholesale only, you can get them through IE and CaTuned

I agree with you 110%, but the kid asking has a bone stock, maybe chipped M20B25.

I want a big brake kit for mine. I need it, but luckily my upgraded stock sized stuff is holding it down.

Save yourself the stress and skip Massive.

If you want a IE or UUC kit let me know. I'll get you a good price!

I have the UUC kit and I love it.

                  1. Track day bro. Also autocross and rally. My coworkers/boss are getting me into the sports. I've already had an interest prior, but my boss will teach me; he even runs his own race series.
                  2. My master cylinder is failing. I can't find a seal repair kit, I'd repair it myself if I could, and I have tried. So I don't want to drop $150 on a stock cylinder. I want a bigger bore to send fluid to better calipers, & the whole shebang.

Yep, totally stock. I've have to drop my little factory basketweaves to fit the larger discs. Once I sell my miata, I can get something nice for the bimmer. Brakes are so important that I want to do those first.

Cool thanks! I'm only researching now. Those are the two I have bookmarked. IE has the 295 kit which I like because smaller wheel = larger sidewall, and I like sidewall. I haven't looked too much into tires yet, I'll have to see what rubber I want, and then I'll look at the sizes offered to decide between 15 or 16" wheels. Def not doing 17, not my cup o' tea.

A BBK is definitely nice but absolutely not a necessity. A well sorted stock brake system with stainless lines, quality fluid, good rotors and high end pads is more than adequate for 24v swapped cars.

you dont want to drop $150 on a new master cylinder but you want to buy a $1000+ brake system

honestly, the miata is probably the perfect 2nd car to strip and track. Then you can enjoy the stock E30 for what it it is.

track cars break and parts can add up quickly. consider tires and pads. you will be replacing those OFTEN if you will be tearing up the track, even worse when you are learning. You will destroy pads and tires until you learn that balance. I havent forgotten the ride in the M235i haha

again, the miata is a better way to go. smaller wheels means smaller tires and smaller tires are cheaper. 15" is where you want to be IMO

exactly what Im saying. I have a BBK in my future because I want to drop unsprung weight also and the added stopping power is a nice bonus.I have a bunch of things I plan on doing to drop weight, sprung and unsprung, but really Im better off spending my money on HPDE instead of $300 carbon fiber mirrors, let alone $1000+ on a BBK.

Kevan, I highlighted the main things to consider with track day brakes.

I dont see any reason to buy a BBK for a stock e30 doing autocross or the occasion track day, the e30 had pretty good stock brakes from the factory. People doing BBK are people who a) have sorted most everything else out and have a lot of money to be cool b) tracking is the primary use of the car or c) put a shit ton of power behind it

Take the $1000+ your looking at in a BBK and do some nice tasteful mods, upgraded suspension, wheels (tires) etc

+1. A bbk won't do take much off your times either. Get rid of the exhaust and intake restrictions, but start with suspension.

With a good set of pads and rotors you can track it all day without fade.

For a fact, one of my close friends has been tracking his s50 with upgraded stock size pads & rotors. No issues there.

Yes 24V + BBK = a perfect balance. It only makes sense to everyone, that more horse power, needs more stopping power too.
