Whats your take on nos tires? Found some bfg gforce's in 16 new old stock but theyre 6 years old. The price is right for a decent tire. I'm assuming since its somewhat of a quality tire I shouldnt have much issue running them.

I think it depends on how they've been stored.
Anyone looking for an E30?
I also helped my friend swoop on this 86 es for dirt cheap. Needs love but luckily he will give it to her

I dunno...tires have a shelf life of about 6-7 years before they start deteriorating. Cracks started to form on my falken fk 452's after 7 years so I put the wheels back on the car and used them up. I also had some 6 year old 15" tires I was saving for a rainy day and decided to sell them instead of having them sit.
6 year old tires will probably be okay as long as you use them up."I'd probably take the E30 M3 in this case just because I love that little car, and how tanky that inline 6 is." - thecj

I mean if the price is right I dont see any real problem, I wouldnt expect them to be 100% but I think you understand that, I once drove around with 16 year old tires on a classic car i bought not knowing how old they were, they looked in good shape...till on two seperate occasions I blew a tire on the highway.

I'm assuming the best case scenario is faster wear. Had a 10 yr old tire with 40% tread go bald in a couple weeks of daily use. I think I'm going to bite the bullet. In the pics tire looks mint
On a side note just started a new job last week. Doing Porsche restoration at a small shop in Northridge.

True. I have to change all my bushings up front on the merc before I get an alignment. I'm just weary of rolling around on these super old mismatched tires. All of them are pretty much dry rotted.

When one of the bitch clips is a stupid POS and falls off
Spent the $4 to get a bunch of spare brand new ones, def recommend the same to anyone doing a shifter rebuild. With the exploration driving I (almost trusted this car to do) I could have been stranded in a much worse spot, very relieved this happened on PCH near home.

Wow, yours looks stunning with them! Somewhere along the line I bought them with a package of 3 fake caps with the right color that don't quite hold together, and a bunch of silver real ones, that's why they're not on yet hehe.
And @ JeLani they are type A's.Comment
