In about to do this too, hopefully I'll have a little guidance along the way but, nothing you couldn't tackle down on your own, if you just reverse the removal steps for the shoes.

Just go to Tony the fender roller, he's in Reseda, charges about $50 for all 4 corners and, does it the right way with a ton of different hammers to keep the body lines, close to stock if you're not looking for extreme pull/roll.

ebrake shoes are easy. It's not hard to figure out once it's in front of you. Have a few needlenose pliers, picks and allen wrenches.

Yay drums! Yeah once you're in there, it's pretty logical to go "hmm, this spring is holding this shoe. hmm I need to compress this other spring to twist the pin out." I think for you, the hardest part will be understanding how to back off the adjuster screw, and setting it to the correct drag through the backing plate. But it's pretty straightforward, have fun!

Wear safety glasses in case of exploding springs and don't breathe in the brake dust.

How many of you have smogged 2.7i's? I've heard of being asked if it came with the "2.5" and I will lose one more tick-tock on my cuckoo clock if they ask me to BAR it or write me up for tampering.

Me. Passed smog first try. Barely actually, almost failed visual. I was running too rich though. You'll be just fine with it, run your normal 14.5lb injectors.

Guys I need to smog my car this week and I was wondering if I'd be able to pass or not. The car runs fine and the M20 is stock, just has a muffler delete. If they see I'm missing a muffler, would they fail me on the spot?

they wont fail you for not having a muffler. As long as the cat is there and you have no other modifications or tampers visually, youre good to go.

before i left California i got my 2.7i smogged without issue. i had a new cat, stock i injectors, i airbox, single 2.5 exhaust all the way back. original 325e car.

That's good to hear but I just remembered that if my CEL is on then I'd fail regardless. I have to get that fixed now too -.-.

If your referring to the 'Check' light on the cluster, it is a general check light , mine stays on too and my check panel up top doesnt work. Still passed
