    I have that book! It's a fantastic read. I wish it went in depth in a few places but overall very thorough and educational. It is dated by modern technology but works well to address our cars. Good diagrams too.

    Currently building a badass coffee table

          Just wondering, does you car use a different key for the doors and ignition? My car uses a different key for the driver door, the ignition key for the ignition, passenger door, and trunk.

            My car uses one key for everything. Someone replaced your lock on the drivers door, which is why it uses a different key.

              It should use only one key. You may have to go to the dealer for a new unified set of parts.

                You have two options and I think a rebuild kit for your driver door would be the best way to go. Option 2 is a little riskier, as we talked about it a little while ago here, and thats to go to the dealership and get a VIN cut driver door lock, and hope its the same. It seems like it should with your situation, but you wont know until you have purchased it

                  So, I got my central locking to work by fixing the fuse in the relay. Then the central locking relay was hot to the touch and the soldering I did melted off and fell between all the pins for the plug...... Now my drivers door interior lock is stuck up and the car will automatically unlock when I go to lock it... The relay is toast now, huh? Also, do you guys think it fried the actuator and that is why my lock is stuck up on the drivers door?

                  Or is the relay fine and its only unlocking because the drivers lock actuator is stuck?

                    You guys think the day where you can find a nice back seat for an e30 at the junkyards is over? Or a nice seat or dash?

                    Everyone I see now if i'm lucky they're toast. dead husks.

                      Ive never seen an e30 at a yard that wasn't picked clean

                          I saw one getting moved into a space at the sunland yard, the row was being filled up with a new batch of cars so no access until they were done. As I watched I noticed a fairly clean dash and full interior. Went back the next day around noon and it was stripped. Carpet, dash, seats, carpet, steering wheel, tails, both fenders, diff. It was also a holiday weekend so half off.
