Bought a set of tires on impulse (been needing new tires for a while). Got a deal (basically 50% off) on a set of Pirelli trofeo Rs 245/45r16 problem is that I'm on 16x8s so I think these are a bit too big. Should I sell them and get the right tires, or suck it up, buy a set of 16x9s and throw on the fender flares I've been hoarding?

I know haha I never thought I'd justifiably be able to afford a set... they cost me less than a set of new r888s

A set of 16x9 will be a bit of a pain to find... unless you want some Rep wheel or pay a ton of money

I found a set on craigslist too, but here are the cool ones from vwvortex. First one is obviously the best one

                  http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthrea...61-Stahls-S2-s ET 50! haha

I have no qualms running "decent" "reps", there are a handful of 16x9 options out there between the miatas and civics. I'm gonna mess them up anyway throughout my shenanigans

I have my sights set on these:

                        I have a set of 16x9's that you might like - 57.1 CB ET15
Basically same set up you've seen on my car so it will fit as long as you space the front accordingly to clear your coils.

You'd probably have an easier time fitting them since r888's run fat anyways. Want to borrow them for a trial fit? I have two (discontinued) Falken 452's 225/45's mounted on two and the other two are tireless.
I have no rush to use them yet.

My rear 16x9 et15 with 225/45 doesn't rub at all btw under full compression

I have no qualms with running reps either

Charlie, if you can run the 16x9 with no flares that would be perfect. Im not a fan of drilling into the body for the flares

aka just double-sided tape them on, ez.

jk, but me neither. I ALMOST did it 3 years ago and glad I didn't pull the trigger.
