What paint manufacturer are you going to use. Do you plan on using their primer too? I use only duplicolor products because their nozzle is the best one around.
I like to paint with buzz cans in the morning when it is cool. It seems as it gets hotter it is harder to put on a glossy coat but when it is cooler it is easier to run the paint. The key to no runs is thin coats to start off and then make the last couple of coats heaver. I hope this helps.
Cheers,

i think waiting too long made the color coats flaky for me. i waited over an hour in good ventilation for the colors, and then overnight before the clear. i should have put clear while it was still 'soft.'
i used duplicolor.1989 325is / 2.7, 274 cam, e30 M3 5-lug
