anyone have insight as to why an e30 will only start by being jumped at the battery?

as compared to what? jumping from the front terminal, or jump starting?

maybe there is a short or disconnection from the front terminal which is why it only works when jump started?

won't clutch start or take a jump from the front. runs and drives great, then has no click or crank on next start.
