    A thought on highways vs. city streets;

    put 7k miles on my bike before going down, prob a 60/40 split highway/street maybe more, alot of my commutes were on I-5 to SFV.

    Went down half a mile from my house taking off from a light turned green, lady just wasn't paying attention "you came out of nowhere" which translates "i wasn't looking". I wasn't splitting lanes either.

      I've had a couple sv650's. Amazing bikes. A little twitchy with how they deliver their power, which can catch you off guard if you haven't ridden before. I recommend one only if you have ridden a bike larger than 500cc before. Otherwise start with a smaller bike and work your way up.

        I actually like the Suzuki s40 if i got a new bike, looks like a turd out of the box, but the geometry is very cafe-friendly if you're dead set on cafe styles.

        this

        to this

        Looks like a drastic overhaul, but those are ALL bolt on parts

        650cc on a single pot, 5 speeds, and up to 60mpg, can be had for ~2.5k

                      Thanks a bunch Terry.

                      If my order fails, which seems likely due to EVERYBODY not having any on hand. I will hit you up!

                        A: Do a m/s5x swap, refresh as many seals and gaskets as possible without separating the headgasket, as long as it's in good condition and or low milage.

                        B: Pull my m20 out, do the headgasket and seals along with a refresh of the head and live happy for the next 15 years with a motor that I somewhat understand.

                        C: Leave as is and continue to do regular maintenance, save up more money and just buy a newer car.

                        R3v should set up a fund for Ed to get a swap, just like the yan-3 fund. Eds been around for a while and has helped/mentored/guided people with great advice.
