That thing was so shitty, customer just bought the car with it installed. I don’t know how they got the reputation that they have, they sure didn’t earn it.

I have no experience with their product but whenever I see a small business come in and try to undercut a well established really renowned manufacturer like Momo or Sparco...corners must be cut somewhere and I have to question the quality. Since it's a steering wheel, perhaps the most critical part of the car...that's not the part I'd cheap out on.

I've had an Ebay "Mugen" steering wheel on my Honda CRX Si back in the day that looked and felt great for about 2 years before the adhesive started giving way and you could twist the leather around the steering wheel. At least it was inexpensive...unlike Renown but people seem to be okay with them.

They’re literally the same wheels you can get on Alibaba for $25, he just got in touch with the manufacturer and had them engrave Renown on the spokes. We took one apart once, the rim was just crimped onto the spokes, no welds in sight.

He commented on my Instagram post saying that was an old style that he hasn’t made in years and that the new ones don’t flex, but I mean, he still took peoples money for it, and even he knows it was crap.

He was smart about marketing, got all of the instant famous cars to run the wheels for cost or free, then got all the nutswingers fan boys to buy in.
